So after the long wait (3 days haha) the heavy stock resonator has been replaced with a straight through magnaflow muffler.

I will get some better videos and clips this one really hides the smooth idle sound but I have a USB mic I'll put to the test once I get a chance, as well as getting some photos of the underside and some driving sound clips.

I am so happy with it, very little drone with normal driving barely able to hear it with the windows up. Non existent when the stereo is at about 14 or more. But with the windows down full throttle is sounds vicious!

More clips to come!

Is that the stock exhaust and you just changed the midpipe?

Yep, everything is stock but the mid pipe has been replaced with something similar to whats in the link

I need to get a better recording to pick up the nice idle sound it has, really soft but deep.

I have never heard the HKS in person so I am not sure how loud it really is.

I think it would be pretty loud though. I am still trying to figure out how the coupe resonator is routed, I know it's not straight through so I am thinking it's a double back design/ reverse flow.

Similar to this I think, but I'd have to cut one open http://www.hileri.com/products/cherr...bo_cutaway.jpg

Sounds good, but from the video, it doesn't sound anything close to the HKS.

What are the dimensions? Did you have to mod the heat shield at all, or did they just splice it in? How much each was the res and the labour?

Stclair, I am curious as to what it's packed with.

I know it's not an HKS but it wasn't $500 either haha, I want to go dual, one a side even if I am just splitting it from the mid pipe. I love that look!

Swivelhips, I'll get you some photos and the actual dimensions of it tomorrow when I get it on ramps and take a better look. But from seeing it quick on the lift and peeking under the car maybe 12 inches long and 5-6 inches in diameter? Not mod to the heat shield. Res was $100, labor was $40 and there was a $40 rip off charge for parts... Which in some sense I can understand. Welds and extra piping. Labor was cheap because it was a friend of a friend.

So for $200 I am happy for now, once I get use to it I'll start figuring out how to route the other side. Tomorrow I might take my muffler off and polished it up.

If I find one used for the right price I will buy it for sure, or if another group buy comes along (not in a million years) then I'd for sure pick one up just to test it out.

I want to try some different muffler combos though, I am also going to look for a Z Y pipe.
