Check your states emission regulations.

Okay, so I've been informed that the KCR exhaust "will not" pass GA state emissions tests. Is this because we assume I'd use the cats that come with the system? What if I was to use OEM cats? Would this work?

Catalytic converters do not come with the system. You can use you stock OEM cats. That's why it is called a "cat-back". It replaces everything AFTER the catalytic converter. Not the cats itself.

Looks like you need to do a little reading..... but seriously, maybe it doesnt pass emissions cause of the noise?? Dunno, dont think it increases emissions whatsoever...

So if I was to purchase this exhaust
>>http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3D8%26ps%3D33

I could install it with OEM cats few complications? I believe this would allow me to pass the emissions tests too... I am hoping this would be a weekend DIY.

The exhaust connect to the factory cats.

ya that was what i was trying to explain before lol. no new cats or test pipes or anything. just from the cats on will be swapped, so it should not cause any difference in passing smog over your stock setup.

Haha. Oh well, my bad man. I can be kinda thick sometimes lol - especially when fighting the mod bug.

From what I understand, these are the same type of replicas, HKS, but the fitment is better for the KCR/M2. Hotel paid just under 600, but on their website it is now going for 460 shipped (thats what it shows with it in my cart).

To recap previous posts, the M2 Performace will fit better than most of the cheaper HKS replicas, just make sure to completely assemble it on the car before you tighten all of the bolts down. This will give you the ability to make final adjustments for great fitment. For reference, I find this to be the best way to install any aftermarket parts, not just exhausts.

supposedly fit is a bit better, but judging from the op's pics it doesn't look like his exhaust lines up perfectly with the cutouts either. I personally went with cxlightning's exhaust and you just have to fiddle a bit to get it installed but I like it.

Is this exhaust still 3-4 times louder even after the broken in?

Yep, but only under WOT....when u are cruising it's not bad at all. It can be boomy when accelerating under heavy load, so I ordered a pair of resonators to see if they will help. Will post a video after I am done!
