Noob Q on the plenum spacer and MREV

Hey everyone.. still pretty new here to this forum. I picked up a 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT a couple weeks ago.

I just installed the Z-Tube and K&N drop in filter and now I'm looking at completing this mod with the Motordyne 5/16" Copper Isothermal Spacer...

My question is, do I have to also install the MREV2 before I install the plenum spacer? or can I just install the plenum spacer now and then install the MREV2 later on?

I have the Rev-up engine.. or at least I think I do.. it has the larger velocity stack in the stock air box.

Thanks in advance!

Spacer is definately recommended. You will notice a way bigger diff with this. And you can install them one at a time. The spacer is easy that although the upper plenum is part of the mrev install, you're only talking about another 5-10 min if you do the MREV later. Do it!

installing a spacer by itself on a revup engine will gain you nothing, either purchase the mrev2 first, or install the two at the same time

Seems like there are gains with just the spacer on the revup?

I'm confused... So 1 says "no" its a waste on a 05 revup unless I do the MREV2 and the other says "yes" and has data to prove it, only the data is on a 287hp 350z.. the 05 G35 is rated at 298hp...

If you have the REVUP engine the prerequisite to any upper plenum spacer is the MREV2. On a REVUP lower plenum, the spacer by itself does nothing.

If you can only do one or the other, start with the MREV2. It will still make very good gains.

Adding the spacer later will make additional top end gains.

The plot here shows what the various gains are.

You definitely have the REVUP engine so in your case, the MREV2 is the starting point.

Thanks guys for all the help! I'll plan to do the MREV2 next.

Does doing the MREV2 no longer allow you to retain the factory engine cover? or will it still bolt back on?

MREV2 ans 5/16 spacer still retains stock engine cover.
