Heat wrap the y-pipe?

Hey, I'm planning on getting an aftermarket y-pipe and while I'm putting it on, might as well heat-wrap my HFCs. My question, is there a point to heatwrapping the y-pipe as well? Or am I wasting my time/money?

to be honest you are wasting your money by heat wrapping any of it.

most people that use heat wrap do not understand it. the only time it should be put on exhaust is on a motorcycle. so that you dont burn the **** out of your leg.

and if you are going to put it on your cars exhaust. i hope it has stainless steel piping. because if it doesnt. it will rust a lot quicker than it needs to. when the heat wrap gets wet from the rain. it will soak into the heat wrap and stay moist. witch will eventually rust the pipes out. yes people are going to say that thats stupid and its not going to happen. but yes it will. its not a quick process but its an unneccissary one. and if it really does get rid of the wrasp which i have never heard of then is itt really worth replacing the exhaust because it rusted through?

it can weaken the welding points. especially when it gets wet. Now, the moisture doesnt stay in the material. It will dry out especially on the exhaust from a long drive.
