C02

My buddy and I got into a heated debate about spraying C02 into the intake filter. He claims it is like a poor mans nitrus. He claims that the C02 will cool down the air. I have to disagree, wouldn't the C02 kind of "strangle" the engine? I could see spraying C02 on the intake pipe maybe, but that could still be sucked up.

Anyone prove me right or wrong?

Austin

Your friend has no idea how nitrous works. And no I don't think it would really "strangle" the engine.

I think you both need to read more.

some people spray co2 on thier intercooler, in order to chill the metal, which in turns cools the air passing thru.

i once saw a video of a couple of japanese guys using an fire extinguiser on the intercooler in order to "chill" it before a run 0-200 i think

unless im wrong C02 is not flammable. There for not combustible. wouldnt the C02 if sprayed on a running cars intake shut the engine down or make it stall?

i made my own remote mount co2 cooler for the intercooler on my old car. it involved a co2 bottle for a paintball gun, some wiring, and bit of airline, a valve and some mounting hardware. it works great

as for shooting it into the intake. that just sounds dumb.
