aftermarket ypipe ?
The only things that I've read so far that will to this:
1) Using Motordyne's resonated test pipes (they don't create rasp in the 1st place)
2) Magnaflow resonated X pipe (but you'd have to be able to use a 2in / 2 out configuration. But I don't see why you can use it. Just Y it back into 1 pipe after the Magnaflow

Although after that much trouble, I'd probaby merge the X pipe into a larger single. Like a 2.75" or something. Each X pipe in/outlet is 2.25"
Or if your HFCs have 2.5" in/outlets, you can opt for a magnaflow unit sized at 2.5" easily enough.

^ Your gonna install an X-pipe between the HFC's and y-pipe? I dont get how thats gonna work. Its def not cost effective. The person will end up making a custom exhaust.

check this out. This is a modded Y pipe for the back end of a GTR.
They use it ----> then 2 out. But why not use this design in reverse?

Motordyne's Y pipe has this option but with a cat. Not sure if they offer a resonator in there also.
But a custom one would be EASY to fabricate if you can find a good resonator.

whats the midpipe inside diameter?
this is a good idea, but seems like it will all have to be custom after the cats and that might be more work than im looking to do now. plus a bigger exhaust is only benefitial if you are modded more, all i have is a plem spacer. it can actually hurt power if the exhaust is too big for the engine

If you ONLY care about cutting rasp, you could cut open your stock 03 Y and weld in a resonator. Looks to be more than enough room to do that.
But in reality, I'd try to usa a better designed Y and put a resonator in that. But that would mean moving your exisiting resonator down some. Not too bad.
Gotta bite the bullet if you want to innovate.
