I have the aem bypass valve.....had the intake on for about a month and a half and its a long tube w.o any problems. What intake are you looking at? A short ram shouldnt even take any water.

Aem sells a bypass valve which is an addon to your intake. It prevents hydrolock i also hear there is a bag that can go over your intake thats mesh plastic that prevents water from getting sucked in too.

heres a link to what it does

Amazon Amazon

^ Try the market section of the forums, your local craigslist, or dealership

the stock intake is already a cold air intake. Take a look at the piping. It takes in fresh air directly from the grill area.

The long aluminum cold air pipe is just for bling.

Stock box, K&N Drop In Filter, ZTube...

Don't fool your self, if you pay for something shiny, it's just for the pretty. You wont get ish for gains, but it'll look good.

yup. Stay with the stock intake, or get an 06 stock air box if you can. Aftermarket cold air intakes on Z/G dont improve performance.

This is the first post I've read where shiny was a bad thing! You can have black shiny like Stillens Z-Tube/CAI combo that has zero issues with moisture or heat soak... 2 to 3 real world HP gain and contains that big azz K&N filter along with being 52 state legal for our G35s!

Aftermarket CAI do boost HP but it's not nearly what the manufactures claim. What's really cool is the sound our CAIs create from 3K RPMS up....love it!
