white plumes of smoke

hey guys i recently installed the motordyne art pipes and i noticed white plumes of smoke coming out of my exhaust when I'm at a red light and i take off. Theres a smell to it too but I'm guessing the smell is from the artpipes. Would anyone know what the problem is? thanks

New exhaust components usually have smoke come out while it burns off the resin. The smell is normal for test pipes. The smoke should go away eventually.

NOTE: The VQ engine is notorious for excessive oil consumption. Oil consumption causes the engine to smoke. The stock catalytic converters will usually be able to oxidize the excess oil.

Test pipes and ART pipes will let it all through.

If the smoke doesn't go away in ~500 miles..... There is a possibility you may have an oil consuming engine.

Unfortunately excessive oil consumption is way more common on the VQ engine than it should be.

Do you have a REVUP? It is much less common on the non-revup but it still happens.

The piston rings dont always seal well.

An oil change certainly wont fix it but it can tell you the degree of the problem.

You may of had oil consumption for a long time. The stock catalytic converters clear up the smoke that comes out of the engine. That is what they are supposed to do.

If you put your stock cats back on the smoke will clear up, but the engine will still be consuming oil.
