Most people get the 5/16". It makes the best overall gain.

5/16, no mrev2. If you want more info stop being lazy and search.

MD 5/16 gives the most overall gains. but top end from 5k rpm to redline the MD 1/2 spacer gives about 1hp and 1ft-lb torque more than the 5/16 spcer. all the dynos and graphs on motordyne website. if you are getting the spacer dont bother with an after market upper plenum.

^^ Actually it will, but for the money the gains are minimal and a tune will be required as it will lean you out too much.

As others have said 5/16 has the best gains under the curve and is best for everyday driving.

hey guys, new here. i installed an AEM CAI in my 04 g35 coupe. definitely seeing some results. would it make sense to add the MD 5/16 spacer in combination with the cai? or maybe even another space like the 1/2?
thanks

Adding the spacer will definetly make more power. You could go with 5/16" or 1/2" but only use one.

it seems like the 5/16 is better for every day driving so i'd go with that. what does the spacer do exactly?

This is great I never heard of anyone feeling the HP difference with just the addition of an intake. MotorDynes 5/16" spacer has been the best mod for our VQs for years! It corrects a design flaw Nissan made not realizing our engines needed equeal air flow. You could go with the 1/2" like I have but then you'd need to remove your engine cover. (won't fit) MREV2 not needed with your '04!

Actually , people have been saying it for years.. The conclusion was intakes just made the engine louder making u think it added power.. So theyre just noise makers, and some of them make ur engine mo prettay...

i never had a dyno done so im not sure about actual hp gains but just from feeling i can tell it goes a little faster, the pedal is more responsive and its overall just a little quicker. definitely makes it sound better but id be the one to point it out if it didnt work! im thinking about adding the 5/16 because of the good stuff ive heard and simply because i want the engine cover to still fit. looking to keep it stealthy as MD says!
