2dr exhaust on a 4dr
2dr exhaust on a 4dr
Hey Guys, I have a 2006 4dr G35 with single pipe exhaust, and i was wondering if a dual exhaust from a 2dr would fit. Does anyone have any idea? Or has anyone done it?
Thanks,
Thanks,
No it would not work. It would have to be custom fitted and i would say not worth the time/money. A coupe midpipe will work tho and it will make it sound a little more like a coupe. Only sedan with dual exhaust is ttrank that i know of.
^A full coupe exhaust will work with modification but will not bolt on. The y pipe and midpipe are bolt on however.
IIRC, 68_GT was one, if not the only, sedan owner who retrofit a coupe exhaust onto his sedan.
The other 1st gen sedan guys with custom duals off the top of my head besides ttrank are bigdano, playa24_7, and saskicker32.
Look up their threads/posts and there's a few soundclips floating around in the sedan aftermarket exhaust sticky faq.
It is easy to find these threads to answer your questions. Just use the search feature or Google "site:g35driver.com sedan with coupe exhaust".
If you look under the rear of your sedan the spare tire well will not allow the coupe muffler to tuck under unless you cut the spare tire well out.
If you wanted to put dual mufflers like the 07+ G35 sedans, then you will have to move the fuel evaporator from under the rear passenger side of the car to your trunk (I do not suggest removing it altogether. The coupe is wide enough for the evap to be located behind the rear quarter panel).
As stated above, your options would be to use the coupe midpipe or Z midpipe with extension, OR cut out the midpipe resonator and weld in a 22" magnapack 2.5 in/out resonator.
There are other options, just read the stickies in the sedan section of the forum.
