JWT Popcharger/Z-tube change exhaust note?

Hey guys so I'm soon to install a JWT pop charger and z-tube and was wondering whether or not it will change the exhaust note...

I've done plenty of searching (sorry if I overlooked something) and didn't find much in the way of answers as much as opinions. One might think it doesn't since the incoming air, whether its coming through an oem air box or CAI or short ram, all goes to the cylinders anyway. But then again, I'm pretty sure my friend's IS-F has a 2 stage INTAKE..not exhaust..and it makes a huge difference in the exhaust...so I don't really know what to think.

So I guess my questions would be: Does an intake effect the sound of the exhaust? And if so, how much of a change should I be expecting with the JWT pop charger/z-tube?

It might, but the OEM box is better. Just install the z-tube.

Ouch...too late haha I already ordered the popcharger with all hardware and such. I have heard the oem box is better about heat soak though. Is there a way to mount the popcharger inside the oem box, or is it too big..?

I recommend canceling the order and going after the stillen intake then. It has a cone filter, velocity stack, z-tube and a much better heatshield than the pop charger.

The Z tube and POP will def. change the sound quite a bit. The Z will make it roar a little more and the POP will make it even louder with an added "Pssssssst" sound when you step on the gas.

Hmm right now I'm running oem y-pipe, coupe middy and a muffler delete which is LOUD and sounds really good so I'm looking forward to/curious hoe much the intake sound will affect the sound.

How much is the stillen intake with all the hardware you listed above?

its not really the exhaust note that changes, you can hear a different sound under the hood.

Much louder and much deeper. 3.5K - 5K sounds way better

So I installed the popcharger today, and damn does it make the engine bay look better. I love the whistling sound when you get on and let off the throttle, and when it's about to shift. WOT is possibly a little more meaty..I think the biggest change with it will come with the Z-tube (I'm still running a g-tube). Seems like shifts might be a little faster too...

As for the exhaust note, I'm not really sure. If anything, it might sound a tad bit more warble-y...but I may just be imagining it. Once i install a z-tube, I'll come back and share my thoughts on the changes in engine and exhaust note.

So are you saying to just run the z tube with the stock filter?
