I recently bought a 2005 g35 sedan 6mt with aero package but it is bone stock and for me that doesn't fly, so I will be modding it slowly as I can afford to do so but first thing I need to do is make that growl!

I have looked all over YouTube and through our exhaust sticky and cannot decide which exhaust to go with as I am used to only ever owned mustangs. It was always easy flowmaster mufflers and true dual exhaust now with this g I have no idea what to do!

I like the video of the vortex muffler in the place the resis are and just 2 pipes to tips at the rear bumper I also like the look so I am leaning toward that kind of setup but I also have a 9 month old son who's ears I do not want to destroy. I am worried the vortex single muffler is too loud. My last car (an 03 mustang GT) had magnaflow cat backs and I would have changed them out for flowmaster but was again worried about noise levels. Now that I have finally got my daddy mobile I want it to be something I will love to drive as I have with my mustangs with the appropriate noise.

Is there anyone who knows the aprox noise levels of the 2 setups in comparison that can help? Or help me choose a different muffler if the vortex is too loud? I want people to know I'm comming but not hurt my son (have my cake and eat it too!)

Thank you!

Oh I was also thinking of temporarily just deleting the resonators or muffler but I am worried about it being too raspy and not sounding clean. Let me know what you think of that for now until I decide on proper exhaust. Looking for just muffler not cat back system as I have an amazing shop to custom bend pipes to the rear cheap.

Please guys help me! I need some noise!

Also if this is in the wrong area please move it as I am not 100% where to post this.

Yea I've had a look at those but as everyone knows video is never the same as In person I think the vortex is good but just worried about noise levels anyone know if sound levels are comparable to the a mustang in the cabin because I know the g has a ton more sound deadening?

Yea I've gone through those videos as well and some of them get some pretty deep response. I've been looking at exhausts for my 06 sedan, but I don't want that high pitched annoying sound. I'm going to start by putting a coupe mid pipe and z tube on next weekend. Hopefully this will add some low end to work with.

What does the coupe mid pipe have is it a smaller resonator or something? I see a lot of people with sedans doing that but never understood why

I'm probably the wrong person to ask as I'm as total newb to cars, but from what I've read, yes the resonator is smaller and it also takes weight off the car as well. It's a direct swap too which is great for someone that doesn't know what their doing.

I've been looking more for a deeper sound before I put an exhaust on and I've seen people putting things like the mid pipe, Z tube and high flow air filters on to give it more of a coupe/fx 35 sound. Hope this helps man!

I JUST BOUGHT A SEDAN TOO AND WANTED ALITTLE BIT MORE SOUND.
I PUT A MAGNIFLOW MUFFLER ON IT AND THEY ELIMINATED THE INTERMEDIATE SOUNDS GOOD!!!
COST $165 for the muffler and $140 for the mid pipe and install. $325
