TDX v2 and drone

Can anyone comment on the level of drone in the cabin from the TDX v2 shockwave exhaust? I've heard some clips and love the sound at WOT, but I can't have boomy drone inside the cabin at cruising speeds, especially since I do take some work calls from the car at times. No other exhaust mods at the moment aside from an HR Y-pipe.

i dont have that particular exhaust, but i dont believe you should be getting that amount of drone. someone else with that setup will chime in. have you recently installed it? made sure to use new gaskets? double check for leak? stock cats i assume?

I don't have a TDX. I'm just soliciting opinions to see if it's worthwhile to get one. Thx.

I just installed a motordyne shockwave v2 and must say it's an awesome system.
Not sure if Id call it drone, but between 2000-2800 it's gives a pretty deep sound, then from there on it's not bad at all. Im running a stillen pop-charger and motordyne spacer as well.
Prior I was running a HR-y-pipe with the stock system and I do miss it at times, but when you get on that shockwave, man it's nice. All on stock cats.

Thanks for the info. What do you miss about the stock system? Just that it was quieter?

It's just a different tone and rumble. I went from oem to nismo back to oem, now shockwave2.

He's right about that "deep sound" around 2k rpms. Honestly if it bothers you just keep your rpms 500 higher and it will be dead quiet. I also have stock cats.

If I don't want to deal with the so called drone, I just drop a gear and cruise at a slightly higher rpm (3k) for no drone.

Get it. You wont regret it.

Yeah, that kinda sounds like it may be droney to me if I have to feather it/be really careful at certain RPM's. That's what I'm worried about...

That's what I do as well Bchalks. Drop a gear and hit that certain RPM and you can't even here the exhaust

Exactly! It's as quiet as stock.

I think Tony designed it so people were cruising closer to 3K rather than 2K....
