I just installed the injen ses and it sounds great. There is one problem though. Once the car hits over 3500rpm, I can hear a weird sound coming from the car. It sounds almost like pebbles or rocks in an empty hollow can that's being shook. It sounds faint and not like heavy banging. If this was a rattling problem, wouldn't this sound also occur on the lower rpms? Is this what they call rasp?

you'r engine moves the harder you push it. the torque causes the engine to twist on the mounts. you may have installed it a bit too close to one of the a/c lines. mine contacting the a/c line and I just ebnt the line over a bit. I've heard of people having warranty issues where the Injen CAI rubbed through the pipe and caused an a/c leak which wouldn't be covered under warranty. just a thought

I recently (under 100miles) installed an Injen ses in my 05 coupe.

While i dont experience any rattling i did/do encounter a hissing noise from 3k doing WOT.

I have no idea if this is normal or not... hows yours sound besides the rattle ?

the hissing is normal. every1 I've ever talked to with a CAI hears it. I'm pretty sure it's air whistling past the throttle plate.

I've had alternative air intakes before and i do agree hissing is normal... however the Injen SES stands for Super Exhaust System.

I haven't gone woot yet with the exhaust. I have a pop charger, so when my car whistles, I can't tell if it's from the exhaust or pop charger. I tried to duplicate the same noise again above 3k, but now I have no idea what it is because it is so faint and the exhaust is loud. It could be the same hissing noise you have or maybe something else. I'm going to try and to loosen and retighten everything to see if that works.

d@mmit, sorry bout that all. thanx PPP, yea I know SES is exhaust (I should, I have it on my car) I wasn't even paying attention. I had a rattle from the bank 2 pipe contacting the body after I installed the SES and Helix pipes. with just the SES I had no noise (except the wonderful exhaust sound). sorry for all the confusion, I'm out of it this week.

^how does it sound with the Test pipes and exhaust? I'm hoping with the exhaust, HF cats, and Headers, it would sound raspy at all.

I don't have hi-flo cats or headers but the exhaust I do have with test pipes. several members heard it at the Texas Stampede this past sunday, AzianMakaveli spill youngturk cato, everyone who was there. I have a movie clip of me starting the car but don't have a site to host it on.
