Y pipe and HFC set up

I have a 06 5AT with HFC, plenum spacer, intake and nwp throttle body and it’s diff gotten louder. I’m looking into getting a y pipe to complete exhaust and keep stock muffler because we all know that tone is amazing! Will adding just the y pipe make any louder?

The muffler muffles the stock tone. If you've done this much get a nice cat back that has been designed well and the tone gets amplified even better!

Everything on my car is stock pretty much, but I've gone with two aftermarket Y-pipes. The Megan HR one and now the cheapo Walker and I didn't really notice a difference in either of them. I'd go with Urban's advice if you're looking into doing something like that.

I suggested that half dozen threads ago to Tyler, he's still asking the same questions! Forget the restrictive y-pipe and get a true cat back exhaust! If you aren't aware a true cat back exhaust is where individual 2.50" pipes come off the HFC separately followed by a crossover or z-pipe headed south!

Methinks you meant an X pipe.
