Nismo y-pipe same as Fujitsubo?

Are these two y-pipes the same?

I got a quote for the nismo y-pipe for $710!!! The entire nismo 350z exhaust is only $885.50 which includes the y-pipe!

Judging from the pics of the Fujitsubo Y-pipe, my Nismo Y-pipe sitting behind me right now looks just the same... ...with the addition of a metal Nismo tag tack-welded on.

If you're not buying Nismo for the name and/or to possibly limit future headaches when you take it in for service, or to retain more value in the car for re-sale purposes, then go with the Fujitsubo Y-pipe. If value for the money is your biggest priority, the Nismo stuff might not be for you. Depends on your perspective and priorities, I guess. The Nismo stuff will cerainly lighten your wallet more right now.

Hey GT-Ron,

Where did you buy your Nismo Y-pipe?

Thanks,
Anthony

PM'd you with the answer, but for the benefit of anyone doing a search in the future:

Performance Nissan sells the Nismo Y-pipe by itself. You can find them at www.mynismo.com I have received a couple of orders from them already and am going to be making another very soon. Great service!! Prices seemed to be good compared to the competition, with shipping/handling costs always being reasonable. If they carry what I want, any future orders will likely go to them as well.

If i'm not mistaken, fujitsubo has the contract to produce the exhaust wywtems for nismo. If you take a look at any of the exhaust systems that they have for the same application, there will be some resemblence.

the NISMO and Fujitsubo are not identical... the Fujitsubo has the cross tube between the 2 runner pipes that the NISMO does not, at least based on all the pics i have seen of the NISMO pipe (i have the Fujitsubo). but what was said above is correct, the NISMO pipe is actually produced by Fujitsubo under license from NISMO

You are correct. The Nismo Y-Pipe doesn't have the cross tube.

the gruppe-s y-pipe claimed that it is the replica of fujitsubo. but the picture of the original fujitsubo y-pipe above is different from the gruppe-s y pipe. the gruppe-s y-pipe does not have the cross tube. anyone has any idea?

I believe the Pro 1, UT & Gruppe-S are all exactly the same they're just "named" after the company that purchases & re-sells them from the original manufacturer. But none of these are Fuji replicas because they don't have the cross tube. All in all any Ypipe will give you very similar results no matter who it's made or named by.

Everyone that has posted thus far is correct. Pro-1, UT, and Gruppe S are exactly the same and essentially are copies of the NISMO and Fuji pipes, just without paying for the brand name. Fuji does have a contract with NISMO and the two are one in the same. As far as the "cross tube" is concerned, I question if it really is indeed a hollow tube connecting the two pipes. My best guess is it just merely a piece of metal to maintain the pipe's rigidity and keep the two side from touching together. Other than that I doubt it serves a purpose.
