Could you give more detail on which elements you bent. The body heat shield or the cat heat shield? In which place? Is it reasonable to take the body heat shield completely off when the rattling doesn't go away?

The guys at the shop had to take a mallet and pound the living crap out of the body shield of the car. I mean, REALLY POUND IT!
They originally thought, "Oh, there's plenty of room there". However, "plenty of room" is not enough!
More specifically, the part of the cat that is hitting the car underneath is the back of the cat (the part towards the back of the car).
Take a mallet and pound the bottom of the car upwards.
Mine is EXTREMELY smooth now....no problems. Before, it sounded like a cheap Mustang.
