i have an injen cai intake i want to prevent hydrolocking
i believe that the aem bypass valve is the only bypass valve on the market that will fit the injen cai
do bypass valves really worrk?
if my filter hits a puddle will the bypass valve save my engine?
does a bypass valve cause you to loose power?
what other brand bypasss vlaves will fit my injen cai?

Just take off the second tube and make ur intake into a short ram... I have the injen intake and in the winter I bought a weapon-r Filter that fit my MAF sensor tube.... It works and looks great... Summer is rollin around so I'm gonna put back the second tube on my intake...
wait can i use my original injen filter or will it not fit

I had the bypass valve on my nismo, and took it off cuz you do lose power, if any. But it works if your filter gets pretty much fully stuck in water. If it rains & floods alot keep it for peace of mind. If not just take it off. Just my opinion. But its the same either way, good luck.

Yes, bypass valves work. The only way a motor can suck in water is if the filter becomes fully submerged. If any portion of the filter is exposed air, the motor doesn't possess enough suction to lift a heavy column of water. If the filter becomes submerged and a bypass valve is installed, the change in vacuum within the intake pipe will open flaps on the bypass. It's simply a case of the path of least resistance.
IMO, intakes a worthless on these cars and do more harm than good. A bypass valve will disrupt air flow in the intake pipe because the valves are not air tight.

The Bypass valve is a good invention but in the past unless they have fixed a problem there were known to fall apart and cause pieces of it to be sucked into the engine. I am not sure if this was fixed or not but I would look into it.
Several intakes make power (depending what kind of intake you get) on this car and it has been proven many times. If you want to keep a intake, look into something that won't suck up water like the Stillen or JWT.

My 04 G35 did not have a screen, neither does my 05.

a short ram and a CAI in the same time
i picked Nismo CAI because of the bypass valve and after installing it i just found out that its so so useless, kills the nice sound of the CAI :/ and it seems to be loosen some ponies, if i have had the chance again i`ll definitely get Injen MR
