agreed, but look at the small percentage of people here who actually run them, when EVERY hood manufacture recommends them

Yeah from the looks of it it looks like the clear is what cracked and not the actual hood.

Hood pins FTMW. I saw this RSX's CF hood fly open on the highway (he had to be doing 80mph easy) hood tore from the hinges and scissor kicked some trucks windshield

Did you buy a TS style hood?

ive never had a problem with my ts hood.. its all about TAKING YOUR TIME on the install and getting it to fit/latch correctly.. if you do both then your fine. gone 130+ w/no hood pins and hood was stable, not even shaking

Just because it hasn't flown up on you yet doesn't mean it won't.

I would never even think about running a c/f hood without pins. =/

+1, <100k mi on a single hood is not proof to anyone that it is a safe practice to follow. People can choose to do so if they want, but certainly don't tell others it is safe to do so.

You'd think a company as big as this would be able to make some quality parts.

^ you are right on the money as to you get what you paid for. but I was eluding to the fact that a company known to make parts less than satisfactory is somehow still so successful.

Edit: Pics of the carnage

I do feel bad for the guy whos G35 this is but take a look at the pics of the top latch. The latch is still in one piece which means it did not give out causing the hood to flip. He either had his latch on the car give out or he left the hood open while driving. We have had customers run up to 140 mph with these hoods (without hood pins and I dont recommend going that fast ever for survival issues) and never had a problem with them. Agian Im not bashing on this guy but you cant blame the hood that stayed in one piece, it was just not locked in or the latch on the radiator support failed.
