Clock illumination

At night while my lights are on, everything on the dash illuminates except my clock. Is that normal? I don't believe so and need to know what kind of bulb/led to replace in it. If anyone can help i would appreciate it...

Newly bought '03 coupe 6mt/ no mods yet

the clocks dont light up, u have to wire a led of some sort to it to make it light up. i believe if you take a look at accordfreak's led writeups u might find something there.....

How do you know when your headlights are on? Since everything is lit whenever I turn on the car, the clock being lit is the only way I can tell when my headlights are automatically on...

lol ill pull out my dash again and take some pictures cuz ive take it apart many times to paint my dash and ive checkd for places for bulbs all there is, is a wire connecting the clock.....no wiring for any bulbs....the only logival reasoning i could come up with is that these people upgraded their clocks to 05 clocks specifically for the lights in them....

The '03 isn't backlit like the '05+ clock, but it still has a light

All G35's clock bulbs light up. The bulbs just need to be replaced.

all g35 have lights in clock. 03 and 04 are 2 bulbs on the side and 05 and newer are backlit. bulbs usually go out when you unplug the clock with the battery still connected. For example, to install a new radio.

+1....I have an 03 and learned this lesson the first time around. I also learned not to buy them frm the dealership ($11/bulb). Go to radio shack and get two leds and wire them in or get them from one of the sponsors.
