painting grill

i want to color match the grill on my car. the only problem i am having is the fake chrome that the factory puts on it is starting to bubble a little. so how do i go about getting all the chrome off before i paint it.

well thats what i figured the answer was going to be.

have any of you ever heard of taking liqiud draino and soaking the part in it to get the fake chrome off.

"Easy Off" foaming oven cleaner removes the 'chrome' without hurting the material under it.

either use easy off or just get some elbow grease into it and use the sandpaper. either way can't go wrong
