Project is on hold for now. Got a lot of sh*t going on right now. Prob wrap it up in a few months when the car is parked for winter in the heated garage.

For the bezel insert I had to machine a custom fixture for it to fit into while it was being machined.

Software is the easy part (yay for torrents).
It's good you can make use of scrap material, that saves a lot of $$.
Any idea what the machine costs?

anywhere from $25,000 to $100,000+ for VMCs
ANother thing my boss is looking at is a 3D printer. Basically I could have taken my Solidworks file and sent it right to the printer, wouldnt have to deal with 2 setups and fixtures. But the one we're looking at is $32,000

The tail light was smashed when my car slid down my parents driveway this past winter and hit a tree. I upgraded to 06+ tails

3D printers are nice because you can put objects inside of objects (think like putting a smaller ball inside a larger ball). I'm not sure of the durability of most 3D printer parts for car use as most of them just glue layers of plastic to each other. Not sure how durable the glue is.
