I'm curious as to how many of you guys DIY when it came to putting on the OEM spoiler (or replica)... I have a coupe w/ no spoiler right now and am contemplating the idea of self installation, is it a SUPER pain with lining it up and driilling the trunk? (I installed SPLASH GUARDS on my own which required drilling, but it was one a different surface... any advice would be appreciated!

I recently purchased oem replica rear trunk (painted) spoiler. I decided to take it to a local body shop rather than run into problems on the install. It was only $50 for the install. I'm glad I did. The template did not match up exactly with the oem holes, thus there was additional work to get the correct fit.

Try Grubbs Infiniti (website sponsor) for the oem replica spoilers. They are shipped with your G35 factory color. I believe the price before shipping is under $200. I hope that helps.

Do you guys have any recommendations for body shops near the Irvine area where I can get a rear spoiler installed? TIA

 

I guess I'm one of the only ones who actually installed their spoiler themselves. The template I received from Nissan was perfect and lead to a perfect install. I had to use a hole saw to make 8 or 9 holes. Took me about 1 to 2 hours to install. I bought the entire aero kit with the under body diffusers for only 200 and it was all prepainted from the factory.

You read right, $200 US Dollars. I just got lucky that I found someone that had a NISSAN set NIB and had to get rid of it. He was a rich dude and got rid of the car, so I picked up the aero kit from him. All in all I been really lucky finding deals for this car.

 

When we install spoilers the diffusers come in the box with the spoiler. Im not sure on cost though. As long as you use a NISSAN spoiler your good to go, we have done a few aftermarket ones to see if it would be better to save a few $$ on the cost of parts, but it wasnt worth it when the templates dont match up dead on perfect like the nissan ones.

About the install, all im gonna say is this...
Its not very hard, If youve got all the right tools and can follow directions its gonna be easy. BUT, on the slight chance you mess up your buying a new trunk lid. A dealer tech can install them very quickly and accurate, and if a hole is too big or not lined up they are the ones buying your new trunk lid...not you.
