black chrome emblems

i was thinking of doing it myself if i end up getting the "skyline" and "350GT" emblems. it shouldn't be too hard to spray several light coats of black paint on the emblem before putting them on the trunk. i was even thinking of doing it with flat black or a shade that is not exactly the black of the g35's so that it stands out a bit.
does anyone have pics of BKChang79's emblems? i'll try pm'ing him/her.

I haven't found black chrome "skyline" and "350gt" emblems yet. There are some for Mt. Fugi, Infiniti, and g35 though. I think the letters have to be sent to a powdercoating shop, as just spraypainting them flat black won't give you the black chrome finish. I think am member tried to replicate a black chrome finish but said it did not turn out too well. If you find out any further info please let me know! If not, I am sending some emblems to get powdercoated soon.

i know flat black paint won't give it a black chrome effect. its actually for the total opposite effect to make it stand out on a shiny black g
maybe you could try glossy black paint to get the shiney effect. it won't be exactly as black chrome, but for something that small, i wouldn't pay all that money for powdercoating etc.

there are two manufacturers of black chrome paint that i've come across. one is http://www.alsacorp.com/, the other http://www.motostorm.com/. i've chatted with the guy from motostorm.com. it's not a painful process, but it *should* be professionally done

They have "black pearl" emblems on www.infiniti-parts.com. They are $199. They do not have a sample of them though so i am not sure if it is infact black chrome. From what I have been told, the actual black chrom process is very in depth and expensive so not many places actively do it. If you go to that site, click accessories and G35 coupe, exterior they should pop up.

Black chrome on black
I bought the emblems from www.infiniti-parts.com. Not cheap for basically plastic, but worth it if you want to personalize your car. Here's a closeup shot where I had the black chrome emblems sitting on top of the originals before I put them on so you can see the color difference. The front emblem actually matches the grill better.
