Tein hood damper

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33590

just found this listed on eBay and checked the Tein site. it's authentic. Tein now makes and gas piston hood damper set for the Z33. it's a bit different car but has anyone heard if this works on the G35 coupes? I'm considering getting it and installing it as a test. if it doesn't work I can always sell it

yea, I'm spoiled working on BMWs everyday and then I ordered my G and it has the hood prop rod that's been obsolete since like 1950. I got the Tein set, syas it's compatible with the G35 as well and since it hooks to the factory hinges it'll work twice as well once my carbon fiber comes in. hoping to have all of this and my short shifter received and installed before the Texas Stampede gathering in two weeks.

Yes, this is a real Tein part. I'm a Tein Dealer, and I asked them if the 350Z model would work on a G35. They said they never got around to testing it and that the 350Z model was on back order last time so they couldn't check it if they wanted to. I'll look more into this and see if it works for us too or not.

I too am suprized we didn't get something like this stock. I mean as a luxury car, this should be a standard item.

it rises your hood on its own.. without any force.. and once its up there is stays up there until you have to shut it... so you dont have to your big a$$ stick to keep it up..

I hope they work, i did a few searches on this and posted about it, but all i got was that it works on a Z but not on a G. something about the weight difference.

yea I figured there'd be a weight difference between the two hoods but the ViS Fuzion hood is light as sh-t! got it in today and it might weight tops of 10 pounds. talk about weight reduction. so the Tein dampers should be able to pop the hood right up.

The hood on the Z couldnt way that much lighter for the damper to make a difference.

agree. at any rate, the Fuzion hood is light as sh-t so even if there was a weight issue, the new hood would negate it.
