Telescopic steering wheel column

Does anyone know if the telescopic steering column can be swapped to a non telescopic equipped car?

Just updating this thread to say that I bought a manual telescopic steering column from an 05+ coupe and it is possible to swap the column, but there are some complications that need to be resolved and I am in the process of doing that. I can put together a DIY for those interested.

Is there anyone that could use a write-up on this?

Sounds interesting.
Being in the UK I have a *** import 350GT. These only came with a tilt adjustment.

hi @Row2k , I am interested in telescoping functionality for my 04 G coupe steering wheel. Can you explain the complications you had? How is it holding up after 6 years?

Also, did you ever write a DIY? I would love to read it if you did!

thanks in advance!
Kash

hey @Kash , the major complications from what I recall (it's been a few years) was that some of the bracket holes don't line up perfectly, which means you will need to drill two or three holes to get everything to line up. The reason I ended up doing this was to get a better seating position especially for track use as I was looking to bring the steering wheel closer to my chest. I'm pretty tall with rather long legs so pushing the seat back to make heel-toe comfortable made the steering wheel sit too far away from me.
That said I wouldn't do this again as there is a better alternative if you have the same problem as me. What you want is this:
https://www.spacershop.com/en/produc...r-nissan-350z/

The install is 10x easier and brings the steering wheel closer to your chest so your feet and legs are in a much better position for heel-toe at the track
