Help with window and sunroof

I bought an 06 6mt coupe cheap. It’s been wrecked in the past. Frame is good. Subframe is new. Front quarters I replaced. I also replaced the passenger door. Nearly done. Two issue I don’t know how to fix.
First is the passenger window. It does it’s little drop down a quarter inch and raise back up when you open and close the door. And I did reset it. It wasn’t doing it, I swapped the door and all components, reset it, now it does it. Except it goes up crooked. There’s play in it. I don’t know how that’s supposed to be adjusted.
second is the sunroof. Never had a sunroof before. It will close. And the back end raises up. But it won’t open and go back. It’s sitting crooked. All the bolts I can find are tight. There’s no play wiggling it. I haven’t even got an idea where to start. if

any of y’all have any ideas I’d appreciate it.

I would do the sunroof computer recalibration, looks like it lost the end stop calibration.

As for the door, there is a pinch adjustment bolt that changes the tilt (top moves inboard or outboard) but if there's an alignment issue like the front or rear has a gap that's something wrong with the regulator probably. Start by removing the interior door panel so you can watch the glass and regulator as the window moves up and down.

Oh ok great. I found the sunroof reset procedure. I will pop the panel off and check that boot for the window.
thank you

Ok well I found the reset procedure but it didn’t help anything. The sunroof still tilts up and down in the back but won’t open. I can press the opposite button to even it out and close it correctly. So that will work until I can get it checked.
I will probably do the window later today

Here is the diagram from the FSM for the window angle adjusting bolt.

Thank you for that. It confirms what I found last night.
I tried doing that but I think the regulator is just worn out. Neither of those cam bolts do anything at all.
I am going to have to remove everything anyway as I found that the door skin I replaced the original with is bowed anyway. There is a good quarter inch gap in the middle of the window between the glass and the rubber sweeper. I’ll just bondo the old door and get a new regulator when I swap it back out. I’m going to be painting the car eventually anyway. It has a few other bondo spots. I just got this other door skin for free haha.

Thanks again. I did manage to get my sunroof leveled out at least even though it still won’t open so that will suit me for awhile. And I think my regulator is just so worn it won’t work anymore. Oh well. I appreciate the info guys

You could try spraying some aerosol silicone lube spray around on the regulator to see if it's just bound up from friction sometwhere. If that loosens it then hose it down good with aerosol white lithium grease. I always like to start with silicone spray for stuff like that since it runs into all the crevices nicely, the white lithium is the proper long term solution but sprays out pretty thick and pasty.

Also make sure the rest of the regulator mounting bolts are snug, if they get loosened over time it makes the window run up and down terribly.

Sorry I haven’t been back on.
I replaced the regulator. Took it out and realized the plastic guides were so worn and floppy they would fall off if you shake the regulator. Replacing it fixed it. Got one from lkq (pull a part). Works great now.
I still don’t know about the sunroof. I have moved on to working on some of the bodywork. Bondo isn’t my friend it seems. But it will get there

Yeah body filler can be tricky, it just takes practice to use enough to fill without so much that you spend AGES sanding. If you're really struggling you might have it mixed a little too thin, try thickening it up a little to make it easier to work with. Then just keep the surface wet so it doesn't get that "pitted" look.

I have a few various sized pieces of really flexible plastic that helps matching contours. Bend it around the contour of the rest of the body panel then drag across your filler.

A friend of mine uses cardboard, cut to fit the contour, then get the edge wet so it's nice and soft, then drag across the panel to match contour and since the cardboard edge tends to get rolled back due to being wet it makes the filler just a little bit thicker where you need it which helps a TON with the sanding.

Thanks for the tips. I have never used it before. I had a big dent in the rear drivers side quarter and the rear bumper has some dents. It took awhile to get the quarter, the dent was about a foot across and creased all over. I had to fab a new edge for it. The bumper hasn’t been bad.
personally I wish the stuff was thinner I am using bondo brand bumper filler, which is just epoxy. But the body filler is evercoat. Not awful but I wish I had another maybe 5 minutes to work it before it hardened

This was my dent before I fixed it and after. A body guy could do a better job no question. But for my first time using it and my goal of “good from 10 feet” it’ll do haha
