My one tip: for me, anyway, my crappy needle nose pliers were not able to get any purchase on the tabs that have to be bent to open up the stopper housing. I used some side-cutting wire cutters to snag that tiny mashed-down tab end, and it was the cat's meow.

Man o man I am so happy to have that monstrous coupe door stay open when it's time for this old guy with bad knees to try to roll out of this butt-scraping low-clearance awesome machine. It was really fun trying to juggle my carry out dinner while holding the door open and literally rolling out and jumping away before the door got me.
Thanks for the post! I had just purchased new R35 GTR door stoppers right before Z1 released this kit. I’m curious which one holds better. I haven’t put mine in yet, I still need to order new door lock assemblies so I can just do it all at the same time.
I am literally day dreaming about what it would be like to have my door stay open 😂
Dream on! It's so very very very very nice. These hold super great, so I can't imagine that they won't meet or exceed the GTR stoppers.
One more thing: I used 100% silicone grease that is used for lubing plumbing O-rings on both the rubber stoppers and the strut arm. I don't think spray is enough to minimize wear. In that location there should be a very low risk of getting grease on clothes.
