My Kenstyle Replica Review! *Not perfect Fit AT ALL
My Kenstyle Replica Review! *Not perfect Fit AT ALL
Hey guys i went by my bodyshop after work today and see how the fitment went, and the results was that the rear and side are of pretty good fit with minor adjustment here and there (but NO WAY perfect fitment)
but the front just went down to the ****hole on the passenger corner (headlight area), it does not fit AT ALL, major work has to be done with the front. i didnt' take any close up pictures, but i'll b sure to do that next time i head over to the shop
i'm really pissed off because how come G352NV's frds replica front fits so well, and mine doesn't? sigh... here are some pictures.

that sucks! Sorry to hear about that. You should PM 350forums. Its really hard to see how bad it is in the pictures... but it does look pretty off at the passenger corner.
Hmm... from that picture... the passenger side looks like you just have to push in it... but that's just from the pictures... wow... Now that's gonna make the other members think if they should still get a replica... but still... the back and side look pretty good...
It's fibreglass, you can make it work... Heck, if you wanted too, you can fit that kit onto a Hummer! Tell your bodyshop that - lol... Nevertheless, cars coming along great!

As I mentioned in your other thread....
You're saving $2,000 by buying a replica, but have to spend up to $200 for extra modifications to get it to fit. In the end, you're still saving a butt load of money, and it has just as good of a fit as your oem bumper!

Ha, here comes the replica hate. Give it a rest already.
Bottom line, you saved a bunch on the replica, you're def not going to put that much back into it that it was a bad decision in comparison to the real thing.
So far it seems they are hit or miss, but it is never so bad that it's unfixable. Like it was said before, it's fiberglass, and that can always be made to fit.

I think he's right... Correct me if I'm wrong, but the real deal Kenstyle kit is around $3000 plus shipping which conservatively speaking would cost you at least $200 to your door, and then add on average anywhere from $1000-$1500 for prep, paint and install and you're looking at a grand total of between $4200 and $4700. The full replica kits that I have seen, you can get to your door for roughly $1500, now add the $1000-$1500 for prep, and you're looking at a low of $2500 to a high of $3000. That's a savings of at least $1700 either way (not too far off from Silverbolts statement of $2000), compared to that of the real deal. I think it's a solid savings!

According to Duacatiguy's quotes on shipping, prep/painting and labor... with all my connections, strings pulled, corners cut, additional costs shaved. I'm left saving $2,300-$2,800 and having a replica, painted and installed that is identical to the original. With that amount saved... Theres my money for my rims!
Man you got totally reamed on NWN. It is pretty extreme, but it's not bad. I think the kit can look pretty good if the middle part of the rear bumper is painted black. I just don't like how the rounded front doesn't match the agressive rear...
