Tint in that can get away with

I live here in the Bay Area I usually am driving between Redwood City and Sunnyvale, I have a black G35 Coupe and wanted to get the windows tinted. I believe the law is that you cannot have less than 70% in the front. What amount of tint is the most that you can do that cops wouldnt be stopping you for? Becuase I dont want to have to be going through getting fix it tickets and having to take it off. SO what do you guys believe is a safe tint and do you know any good places in the area? People who live out of the Bay Area what tint do you get away with if you have similar laws to that of CA?

I thought the California law was that you couldn't tint front windows at all and could only have what was given from the factory and that people do it anyway and dont get called on it

in cali, the driver's and passenger's windows cannot be tinted legally. the rear windows and rear windshield can be though. i wouldn't go lower than 20-35%... my friend has 35% up front, 20% all around the back on his black 92x and it looks decent.

I bet you can get away with 50% up front. It doesn't even look like the car has tint with 50% tint, yet you will get good heat reduction and UV protection as long as you use good film. If you have willow interior, it will also help a lot since it makes the tint look lighter. I have willow interior and 35%front and 20% back tint, and the fronts don't look dark at all although it is noticeable that my car does have tint.

That sucks. Cali is gay about tint. I live in Arkansas and i have 15% all around. I also have friends with limo (5%) all around. I have never heard of anybody getting pulled over just because their tint was to dark.

Depends on where you live in Cali, some places just don't care. If I were you I'd get 40% or 30% Huper Optik or some sort of metallic tint, the heat rejection is higher than regular charcoal tint plus it looks lighter because of the slightly reflective effect it has.

WRONG... California law states that you can have no less than 70% on the 2 front windows, There is no limit for rear windows as long as its not mirror tint. BTW i have 20% all around on my 05 sedan and haven't had any run-ins with the cops yet (knock on wood). I think it's safe to say 35% would be a good tint that you wont get busted for.
