Stupid 06 City Light

how difficult would it be to just remove that damn city light in the 06 headlights? i think it really takes away from the HID look. Also, how would you go about doing it? I have read several ways, front bumper removal, turning wheel in, taking wheel off...if i were just to turn the wheel in, how difficult would it be to just remove the stupid light, and not replace it with anything? Thanks for the imput

Its easiest to remove the wheel and peel back the lining. From there, you just pop out the bulb. Youll have a niec sized hole in your housing tho. Replace it with a PIAA exreme white bulb for 12 bucks and youre set.

I feel the same way about the city lights. So I bought matching Piaa bulb to my Piaa fog lights so they look the same. Do a search someone posted pics fo what it looks like.

I wonder if a dash light will go on if you remove the bulb?

hmm i tried the search. maybe ill just search for removing the 06 headlight then. I don't have access to a lift, and using the jack i think would be tedious. You think just turning the wheel all the way in would work?

yes turn the wheel all the way in, pop out the plastic rivets, and peel back the lining

Damn you and your quad projectors!!!

I changed my lights. The 03-05 Headlights were pretty easy to change the bulbs...the 06 headlight (especially the city light) is a pain in da rats @$$.

I ended up taking the bumper off and pulling the headlights out a little bit. I put LEDs in originally but I had this blue light look so I put the OEM bulbs back...I'm going to try PIAA Xtreme White wedge bulbs next time around...just gotta get off my lazy @$$ to do it.

Sorry for such a stupid Q... But I am new here and about to pick up a MY06 coupe...
But what is different electronically on the new lights?
How many bulbs are there in each housing? And which are Xenon/HID? Fog, DRL, Low, High? Sorry, just a bit confused. I plan on changing them out also, just don't know which we have and what kind they are.

Damn you're right. Six Projectors....I'm speachless.

On the 06 Headlights.
The projector is your xenon.
The city light is the small 168/194 wedge bulb in your foglight area (the lower circle underneath the projector).
The Foglight is a H1 bulb
The blinker...I think is a 7440 bulb.

Just to make sure before I start disassembling stuff...
Is the only way to remove the City Light to remove the wheel? Or is there an easier way through the engine bay?

Its easiest to do it by removing the wheel but it can be done by simply turning the wheel in. My car is lowered which makes it harder to do. I removed my wheel and made it easier on myself
