thats the clearance strip. uses a 194/168 (194 and 168 are the same thing) bulb. im pretty sure you dont have to take the housing out for this, you can just channge it like you would change any other bulb.

First, Welcome to the board!

In order to change out that bulb (clearance strip), some say they can get their hand in from the engine compartment. Myself, I think its almost impossible.

You will need to turn the front wheel in so you can access the wheel well area, then jack that side up some so you can remove the fastner/plugs (5 of them is all you need to remove, a couple on the top and on the outside edge), and the one little phillips screw on the inside lip of the fender.

Once you remove all the fastners and the phillips screw, you can peel the plastic wheel well liner down and have access to the back of the headlight assembly. You will see a black/red wire up in the right corner of the headlight assembly. It will have a long black plastic tab you can twist to remove the socket/bulb. replace the bulb and reinsert the socket.

Then reverse the process, and you should be good to go.

Try to remember the position of the socket when you remove it. It only seems to go back in one way......it will make your life a whole lot easier.

Good luck......and if you plan to use aftermarket bulbs, be prepared to do this often. I have had to replace the bulbs on both sides a couple of times already, once because the coating peeled of and it looked like $hit.

I wish the strip looked more attractive at night. IMO it looks like it was cheaply engineered

^^ I've seen it before and i still don't feel it. I would like to go multiple led's all the way down. I think that would look better. kinda like the new caddy's
