Did you go through that little opening near the gas pedal? I shined a light through, and it didn't look like it opened up on the passengers side...

Use a wire clothes hanger to fish it thru. That's what we call "fishing" in the world of electronics.

I have done it for cars, computers, etc.. anyway, while ccfl's are bright, they also get warm, are fragile, require an inverter, look bad in most colors (except for white and blue), and dim out half way if the wires are made to long. So, this is why I almost always used leds.. (deeper color, no heat, less power, durable, smaller, etc..) Im not putting any one down for using ccfl's they work just fine, I just wanted to give some input.. here are the ones I always use..

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=21321

Those are in white 24" but they come in every color and in different lengths.. performance-pcs is a computer site (thats why I know it.. in fact they are my sponsor.. which is not at all why im showing them to you because i receive nothing for doing so, they just supply me with items to make video reviews of)

anyway, the reason I use these is because they come with 3m adhesive on the back (even though i use zip ties or screws when using them in cars) and they come with a simple molex on the end which I clip off and strip down for + and -.. they are also very slim and produce tones of light..

they look like this

here are a few cars I did with them..

My g35x

my buddies nissan murano

and I did my friends jeep wrangler (with green)

but I don't have any pics of the lights on..

I am interested in going for LEDS for under the glove box and steering wheel but the one on the link is $17.95 each so $36 for the two LED strips + $15 shipping + tax. Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative?

Wow that is cheap
The two web sites I am aware of right now are VLED and performance-pcs. Where did you get your cold cathodes toy?

Well literally i typed in cold cathode in google and 100s of websites pop up. Then I click first one and found 2 lights for $7.99 so it will be about $15 plus shipping

http://www.xoxide.com/dual-white-cold-cathode-kit.html

The post on this thread talks all about it and there are about 10 pages in this thread discussing the lights and where to get them.

The LED strips are worth it, from that link. I ordered a 36" strip, and it's way better than the cathodes.
Cathodes have a power inverter, which is not very convenient considering one inverter powers 2 cathodes, and they do not stretch far enough for driver and passenger side.
I had the extension, but it doesn't make the install any easier.
LED's are better.

I ran all my wires and everything under carpets and also have switch installed so while im driving if I want to turn them on or off I can but also have it rigged to where when they are off they still light up when doors are opened.

I know it's old but that is what we call 'ghetto' in the world of installation! Get a 24" zip tie, cut the "head" off of it and you have a fish tape that won't short anything out and is flexible enough to go anywhere you need it to!!

P.S. PLEASE solder your connections!! A loose one can create resistance which creates heat which creates resistance etc... Enough heat and it becomes a problem!!!

Hey guys, I just bought me a 04 Red coupe with black interior and I want to do some mods and I think this would be something easy that I can do very quick. I read the whole guide, very nice.

I just have a trouble with one thig, I don't know what door to choose for the LEDs. I want to match the interior lights suck as the dash board lights. Will the orange look/ match the dashboard lights? I am thinking of getting 4 of this LEDs http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=24632 will 24in be too much or 12 inch is enough? I also want to put 2 under the rear seats.

Will the orange be ok? Or should I go with another color such as red or white? The 24" is expensive, will CCFL will be just as bright if I go that route? Much cheaper.

I am new here but want to do the same to my 09 The wiring looks different. Has anybody phone a DIY for the footwell lights. Same idea, connected to the map light. Just not sure what wires to tap. Tried the BCM number 4, 7 and 19. None of them did the trick. Thanks for any help.
