I had one go in my '02 Maxima earlier in the year. Really simply to replace.

Here is where I bought replacements:

For light color matching you should replace lights on both sides.

They are usually replaced from inside the engine bay. What year do you have and coupe or sedan?

If I am not mistaken...you will have to reach in through the fender liner. I'm pretty sure you can't access them through the engine bay because of the radiator support. Look out for Triji's DIY on removing lights.

Honestly, if it is your first time, I would suggest removing the entire headlight housing to swap bulbs. You will have to see how the clip retainers work in order to take the bulbs out. This is hard to do when you can't see. The only problem with removing the housing is you will have to make sure the headlights are aimed correct when re-installing.

Here is the DIY (next time, do a search. It took me like 30 secs.)

Funny

Actually My Bulb Came Back On Tonight. But It Seems Like It Was At Its Last Life,,it Came Back Like It Wanted To Turn On,it Did For A Few Minutes, But The Light Was Real Dim And Purpleish, Does This Happens To Hid Bulbs, I Guess It Ran Out Of Gas Particles Or It Had A Little Bit Left, Now It Completety Died.

swap it out ASAP. it happened to my last set of HID bulbs. my right side went out, (with aftermarket bulbs), and it would turn on every so often. But when i turn off, and turn them back on, it would stay off. Eventually, it burned my ignitor up and i had to replace the whole thing. Not a very fun thing to do....

I just swapped my new bulbs in a few weeks ago. I suggest you take the whole headlight out and put the bulb in. Its not that hard, im mechanically retarded and i figured it out. Just know that the ballast clip is a push and pull clip and not a squeeze and pull clip. took me 30 minutes to get the first clip off because of that. Its nearly impossible unless u have really small hands to replace it thru the fender lining. goodlluck to ya =P

sounds like ballast or ignitor issues. But no, you must remove the bumper to remove the headlight.

The easiest way to do it, is through the fender liner. Realllly easy. Just remove a couple of clips and a philips screw, cut the wheel to one side and peel the liner back. Should take no longer than 15 minutes.

I have extra bulbs if you're interested.
