why is my headlight housing forming short parallel lines, i guess you would call them cracks? is this a defect that may be covered under warranty or will they say regular w/t? i know the actual headlight is hella expensive, but can i just buy the housing?
side rant: so i took my G to the dealership for 45,000 mile service and oil change, my dumbass forgot to tell them not to wash it and they def put about 4 scratches in my hood. i think they are light enough for me to get out with some polish i have though. but after seeing this i continued to look over the car and is when i noticed the headlight cracks. i am 98% sure they were not there before. but i cant come up with any way they possibly could have done it. im prob placing blame because im angry just havent noticed them before. but i look closely at my headlights every time i walk past them and have never noticed it before.

Can't quite see the cracks in the pic - but both mine are showing some minor little lines as well - going horizontally across the lens - versus vertically. If these are cracks - they will darn well be replaced under warranty.

Hard to see, but I had the same experience about the washing. They don't give a crap. They probably dry it with shirts.

im gonna try to take better pics this weekend when i get the car back
borrowed my dad's FX for the week
i hope warranty will replace it!

Sorry, but thats a negative ghost rider. Once you have opened the headlights up your warranty is voided, unless anyone wants to correct me?Originally Posted by R3diK3r0u5

OP right before the service guys take your car, the Service writer would write down nicks and dings and definitely cracked headlights, if he did not write it down and it came out that way then your good.
how do you not see cracks?
all those lines that are lit up by my LED's that are not normally supposed to be on a clear headlight housing, are cracks
and i will have to bring up the service center writer report

Are you referring to those vertical lines near the top of the headlight housing?
i.e. The refractors, i believe they are called, also shown in this old pic of mine.
