Black chrome headlights.

I see a lot of people painting the headlights. I was wanting to keep the chrome look but darken it just like most sport models that Infiniti offers. I found this black out kit at Autozone and it worked very well. The pictures don't do it justice, it still looks just like chrome but much darker, not at all like black paint. Anyway just thought I would share.

After (the colors are slightly off because it is a tint and the more you spray the darker it gets but it's not as noticeable as the pictures make it)

That looks very nice for a simple spray paint application! Very impressive. Post pictures when they're on the car too.

Thanks. On a side note you do not need to do any sanding or surface prep except for grease remover but I didn't use it on these since they have been protected from dirt and grease. You can use this on exterior trim like grills and emblems too. It comes with a clear coat to protect the tint. I will be using this on my WRX tail lights soon.

So it does not necessarily have to be a chrome finish to begin with?

Well I don't know what it would look like on things other than chrome. I was referring to chrome grills and emblems. Technically I guess you could use it on anything. It will just tint it darker.

That's what I was thinking, but you mentioned you were putting it on the tail lights haha. Either way, looks good.
