Yeah it was really cramped with the E46 Bi-xenon trim. It probably would work better with the single xenon version.
I also damaged part of the chrome paint during the cutting/sanding process. So I decided to paint them silver and it didn't match
real well with the chrome headlight housing. So I have decided to do Hidplanet trim with polished cans.
I can't wait to see your cutoff mods! I sent you a PM btw.

I'm surprised you were even able to fit the bixenon one in there.
I'm also going to be going with the hidplanet chrome ring. Not sure if I'm going to put the E46 bixenon shroud behind that, or do the polished aluminum sheets.
I'll reply to your PM tonight, too busy right now.
The custom shields reduce the rainbow. I didn't really like the flares in the beam pattern, and the rainbow didn't give me much color when I looked at them head one.
But the cutoff is really sharp now.

I was actually thinking about using the same white LED I have in now but also use fiber optic cable for better dispersion. It would be more expensive than ccfl, but flexible and possibly "drop in" literally.

I'm interested in this. With the light assembly off, what else is required to get the thin CCFL tubes to fit in? Can small ones be inserted from the stock opening? Or is cutting a requirement regardless of tube size? It would be great to know how many mm diameter the clearance strip is...
