The problem I now think I will have is that they are too wide and will hit the suspension arm on the inner barrel of the rim. A 10mm spacer could solve the problem and give enough clearance of suspension arm and they also won't poke out too much.

Tomorrow morning will be the day to see if it fits up front.

You should be able to get away with a 5mm spacer. What size tires are you planning to run?

if they're not hitting the arm of the suspension now, they wont ever hit. Unless you're worried about the tire hitting it once it's mounted on the rim. If it's really too close for comfort, then put a 3mm spacer on there and you'll be all good.

i say put a 5mm spacer and go with a 235/35 tire with a mild to moderate stretch, depending on the tire brand...looks like they will fit with the proper tire size and spacer

I don't think 5mm spacer will be enough, 10 will be very close.

why is everyone saying there is a need for a spacer?!?!? If the inner barrell of the wheel is NOT hitting the suspension arm when you bolt it to the hub... tire or no tire... it will NOT rub when you drop the car and load the suspension........

he cant run a 235/35/18... that is over an inch under the factory diameter. If anything, you'd want a 235/40 or 225/45 up front and the 245/40 he planned on running in the rear.

With no spacer installed the barrel was a few mm from the suspension arm. I am more worried about the tire rubbing once installed. At the installer tomorrow we will install it w/no spacer and the 20mm I have just to compare. From there I can determine wether I will need say a 5mm to clear the susp. arm.

Couldnt he run a 235/45 that is factory spec and I know Toyo makes that size.

he could, but then he'd need a 245/45 in the rear as opposed to the 245/40 he wants to run. Or he could run a 235/45 all around, but that would be a mild stretch which he stated he does not want.

OP... with the 245/40 tire mounted and the 20mm spacer up front, you'll most likely rub the fender, that'd put you at a +15 offset! Unless you had -3 camber, it would never work. i say +3mm spacer and call it a day, you dont even need extended studs for 3mm

That's the hope, run a small spacer up front to give the clearance needed.
