No tire sets completely flush with the edge of the wheel unless it is stretched to hell. There has to be some overhang.

not completely, but there is a minimal overhang when you're putting a 245/40 on a 9.5" wheel. Nothing a 3mm spacer wont solve.

I know, I know........pics. Unfortunately my installer friend had a family emergency to deal with this morning, and I'm now at the in-laws, 7 hrs from the car/wheels. I promise I will have some updates for everyone early next week after Thanksgiving Break. I should be going in Tuesday morning to test fit again.

Im running 20x9 +38 up front on a 245/30 tire. its close to the inside, but still have about a finger gap between the inside and the suspension with about 2.5 degrees neg camber. with 18s on a 9.5, the clearance should be similar. the wheel can stick out another 10mm easily. u should be fine, can't wait for pics

Well, just spoke to my installer and set it up for 5pm tomorrow evening. He said it will be close as well, but we will give it a try. He was actually more concerned about the 9.5" with a 245/40/18 tire, but that shouldn't be a problem. I've seen numerous G/Z's running 245/40/18 on 9.5" and there is a mild stretch at most.
I will have my camera with me and get pics up ASAP. My thought is to test fit with: no spacer and the 20mm spacer I have. Then reevaluate from there what size spacer will be best suited.

Here are the pics, they are crappy, bad light, bad camera, etc..., but it gives the general impression. Tires fit on the wheels no problem, i'd say a mild stretch. The fronts fit with only a 3mm slip spacer, there is a few mm of clearance to the suspension arm. I will install on the front a 5mm hub spacer soon instead of the 3mm. The rear have no spacers installed. The setup does need some time to set in, but it works so far. Tomorrow I will take some daytime shots and update the thread.

Let the comments roll in.

Sweet, glad to see you got them to fit with no issues. Looking forward to seeing better pics in daylight. Make sure and take some full side profile shots and shots from the rear that show how the rear wheels sit.

I will definitely gets some daytime pics up tomorrow.

Just a few more mods and the car will be perfect for me.
-New Blue Lugs
-35% Tint
-Aero Kit or Paint Stock Body Panels (Not sure which, as aero will look much better, but this car is a daily driver and already low enough w/out the kit)
-Debadge Rear
-Some Type of Headlight Treatment
