You're an animal for taking on such a huge job....props man.

As for the door handles. They do remove from the inside, behind the door panels and then a metal sheet cover. If I remember correctly, there are 2 or 3 screws holding them in. My paint guy had to remove the windows to get to them easily. Not sure if you can avoid that or not.

OP to get handles out.

Pull off door panels
Hook up window up and down switch
Roll down window till you see the bolt that holds it onto the arm. One bolt is accessed through a hole
Pull window out
remove the 10mm bolts that hold on big black panel
pull out black panel and remove wire harness
Then handle comes right out. Held in by 2 10mm

20 min job at the most

Are you going to take out the front and rear windshield? and your going to take the bumpers off the car to paint? and the weather stripping on both sides of the roof to? and the chrome mouldings? Its nice to see some one doing somthing them self, but theres a lot more to painting my friend Your going to have to sand behind all the places I listed, and I recomend you pick up a $10 box of latex gloves for sanding and preping so you dont take the oils from your hand and put them right on a freshly sander panel. What grit sand paper are you preping with? You said your fingers hurt in a post...... are you sanding the hole car with a DA or block, or your fingers?!

No,yes, maybe, maybe. And no there isn't really much more to painting. Sand, prep, paint. Just how nice you want it to come out. Yeah using my 400grit nails to really get it ready. ..... No just a lot of little things I had to do that day which involved hand sanding like under the bottom moldings, door jams etc.

I do use gloves, just not in the pictures.

I used 320 to 600 on the parts that were in great shape.
The rest depended on how it was in some parts I had to drop all the way down to 80.
