whats up aggressive guys !!!
i looking at getting the concept one RS8 wheels ... hyper silver chrome lips around the same style as my wheels now but the front lip will be 2.5''-3 ''' lip and the rear will be 3''- 3.5'' lip ... i want to go a semi aggressive set up .. i can get a 19x9.5 +42 and i have a 20mm spacer on my car now and ill be +22 front and for the rears a can get a 19x10.5 +45 and put a 10mm spacer on it and be +35....
i would do +22 front and +24 back but i dont want to be as low as you guys and have that much camber at all ... at most i want to run like between -3, -4 . i want the wheel lip even with the fender and at full compress with the coils i want the lip of the wheel to just tuck right inside the fender.... ill prob be around 24.5'' from ground to fender front and rear
help me out guys cause i want to order the wheels today :-)
edit these are the wheels on a coupe but i want them on my sedan

Now, if the tires were being stretched it's not the manufacturer's fault they separated. Nexen engineered the tire to have strength for the stock stress and load, if those parameters were not adhered to and the tire broke then it is not their fault. Just because the tires weren't OVER-engineered like Michelin's or other high quality brands doesn't mean there is anything wrong with Nexen's tires.
However, if this issue has occurred repeatedly on stretched Nexen's then it makes sense to be skeptical of their use in stretched applications. Double however, lol, tire factory employees are paid by tire usually and they do at times cut corners to get get more money. So if a tire falls apart it may not be the design, but the execution of the build. Therefore Nexen could still be suitable for stretched applications.
With all that said, I only buy tires from quality brands because it is not worth the risk to run a "no-name" brand.

Wear markers are hard to determine when riding on sidewall though.
Also tires that are good for normal use are different from stretching use. Falken 452's are good tires, but for stretching, think again. 451's are a different story.
It also depends on the stretch. When we talk about tires in the stretching game, we generally look for something that stretches easily and well. Some of us, like me, need an extreme stretch. Some tires stretch more or better than others.
It's also tough to tell what stretch you need with certain applications. For example, I'm trying to avoid running more negative camber and I have an issue with Hankook V4 235/35 tires rubbing my fenders on a 20x11 -12 with my current drop (and it doesn't match the front so I want to go lower and clear the tire). Certain tires run larger, some run smaller. When you're working with millimeter clearance, it gets tougher. It all goes back to which tire stretches well and which stretches more (in my application). Each one makes a difference.
I would never run Nankangs before, but a buddy of mine runs a 255/35/18 on a 12. Pretty crazy stretch since the Nankangs run on the smaller side close to true. Pretty similar to my 235/35 on the 11.

I've been doing a bit more research into the Achilles tires that Vivek has since I'm in the market for new ones and I've been getting some personal opinions about them rather than what I read on some forums.
They're rounded so they'll provide more clearance (than the Hankooks) and they stretch well. Apparently several of the Platinum VIP guys run them. I think I'm gonna try out a set of 245/30's. If they can stretch on the 11, might be a new and inexpensive tire option. Hopefully I can get the tires mounted by Saturday.

Nope, not yet. Won't be able to till Friday. I'll probably be going to the spot I've been to before. But I just found out my neighbor does custom fabrication on suspension, roll cages, etc. He might know of a place that repairs wheels that is closer and possibly cheaper so I'm going to try to find out today.
Down the line though, I'm going to take him up on his offer to make me some custom front upper A arms so I can run about -6 camber up front. I'll be visiting the shop soon, but apparently one of the cars they work on is a Rockstar drift car.
Hopefully I get more clearance and don't need camber adjustment, but regardless I will be getting an alignment. I just hope I can lower the car more. Will be riding on rim nearly but I can care less about metal on metal scraping. Would rather it be that than metal on rubber.
