California Law is 26" from the center of the low-beam light. We can be dragging everything on the ground and still be technically legal.

the sidewall law is not a law per se....more like a pet peeve in some counties

i got a ticket in my bagged truck for both my headlights being to low and the body of the truck being lower than the lowest part of the rim at the same time.

the lowest part of the rim one is becuase if a tire blows out. you will start dragging the body or something else which in the cops words "is extremely dangerous"

Yep, that's what the last cop told me when I got a ticket for being too low...although the bastard measured from the outside of the wheel and not the inside. I didn't think of it till later. And my stupid splash guards up front screwed me over, not even the KuRookie.

In the norcal section we had the same questions about the being to low law. This guy answered the question for us, hope it helps you guys out

the wheels, has less clearance from the surface of a level roadway
than the clearance between the roadway and the lowermost portion of
any rim of any wheel in contact with the roadway.

If you look at your headlamp lense, there is a tiny dot, mark or circle cast into it. That is the D.O.T. mark where the height is measured from. So all those monster trucks running around that look goofy with the 22" inch rims with low profile tires on....have probably been popped for having their headlamps too high and that is their best solution to lower them instead of changing out the suspension so they can get the ticket signed off.

Well, that refers to what the vehicle must be equipped with and limitations, it's not specifically about vehicle height.

Just rub it in why dont you!! lol.. wish we had more options for side skirts..... or aero kits in general =(

on another note, anyone got new pics?.. my damn wheels will be in any day now, i need more appitizers!

You can even add OEM splash guards to that. That's what got me.
