From the Install guide I saw on their site, the hi/lo bulb has a 3rd cable you plug in to the high beam harness or something like that.

Make a post in the lighting section should hopefully get an answer there.

 

Do u Know if the fog/ high beam has a extra plug for the extra wire on the bulb?

I just got the 35w 3000K fogs from DDM Tuning. After installing them, I noticed these little eyelashes when Im driving everywhere. Its annoying as F**k. Let alone looks horrible. Did anyone have this problem, or even know a way to fix it. The bulbs have a shield on them (the lower side of the bulb). Its the High/Lo bulb, but I dont think that should make any difference. I cant tell where exactly where its coming from. Im starting to regret buying them. Any help will be appreciated.

 

Looks like the high beams are on almost. I bet it has something to do with the hi/lo function.

I think that light he is getting to jump out is coming from here, but instead of only 2 sides and very weak beam coming out at a high angle, he has 4 and they look pretty strong and at a low angle.

Ya I took a few pics looking head on to the lamp. Ill upload them when I get off work.
I also emailed DDM and here is the response below. For now its just a waiting game until I figure out a way to fix it. Its annoying driving behind people and Im lighting up there bumper and decklid Yellow...Any help? maybe a different Bulb Shield? I duno........

Hi Kyle,
Thank you for the email.
The "eyelashes" you are seeing are from the nature housing itself and not the
HID kit. Since the HIDs are brighter than halogen bulbs, there will be more
light reflection/refraction from the housing which will either result in a
scattered light emission or other unusually light patterns.
You will most likely not get pulled over for this light emission since the
"eyelashes" will not be noticeable for oncoming traffic. Unfortunately we do
not have a fix for you because the light effect is from the nature of your cars
housing.

 

Tell them that other G35 sedans with this kit do NOT do that.

Thanks for the quick response. I understand where you are coming from. The only problem I have is that I know a few people with the same kit and they are not having the eyelash problem. They to have a G35. The only think I can think of is that its the Hi/Lo function. It appears that the high beam is partially on, therefore showing the eyelids. Beacuse if its just the fog it shouldnt have the "high" emmitance of light. Are the bulbs different size/shape than that of the H4 single filament (used for the fog with no high beam function). I have not had anyone flash me for the glare of on coming traffic ...yet...but if I am pulling up behind somone, the whole rear of their car is yellow...and thats not suppose to happen.

 

I think I am the only one with the Hi/Lo kit tho....Or is there anyone else with it?

 

show us what it looks like when you have just high beams on.

I dont have HID but its clearly easy to see the difference between high beam and fog lights.

I was going on to get the hi/lo kit but never got around to ordering it, kinda wanted to wait for my stock HID to die and do it all at once. Did your slim kit fit nicely into the housing as well?

 

Okay I attached a pic of the high beams on...You can still see the Eyelashes slightly. I also rec'd an email back from DDM:

Hi Kyle,
If you would like to test to see if the bulb is the issue, try using your
friends H4 hi/lo bulbs in your housing. You did state that your fog lights came stock with a single filament H4 bulb. The single filaments have a shield that will cover the lower or upper half of the bulb whereas the H4 hi/lo bulb has a shield that will cover about 2/3 of the bulb. It is possible that the hi/lo
shield is having an effect on the light emission since your housing was not
meant for a hi/lo bulb.

Sounds like Im screwed and have to put up with the "Mimi" Eyelashes

@ Turtle.. Yes everything fit nice, thats why I am pissed because it was as easy as 1,2,3 but now I have this problem. Nothing is ever easy.
