Pop them in the oven for 20 mins at 250 degrees .

Yeah, it's the lower plenum turned upside-down. That's why you don't recognize it.

Ashley did you consider smoothing out that texture on the parts you can see?

No interest in spending that much money right now. I can afford $20 in paint... I'll save the larger amounts for other mods (for now)

I considered it.... and that's about as far as it went
I really don't mind the texture, just needs to be black.

Don't do polished, do chrome. Looks better, a good job won't flake, and it's super easy to keep clean (polished aluminum is a PAIN to keep perfect because it constantly oxidizes)

heat will distort the color of chrome.

like Ashley said if you get it done real good than you shouldn't have a issue but finding a good place to do a good job is the real problem
