How did you get the color to match?

I bought my paint from shermin willams. Paint never ever mathes perfectly so I had to tone it to match 100%. Always best when car is present to match it with. Honestly I got lucky to get it that good.. I paint all the g's around my area.

how exactly do u remove the window trim without bending/breaking it? I've been debating painting or wrapping mine...

 

^ its a bitch. You have to pull all the rubbers off first along with the screws. To pull it out you gotta start at one end it kind of peel from the door to the roof gently. Once you get it to separate a little it comes off as you go. Think mirror may have to come off too.

The rears are the hard ones. I dropped the glass and removed the little window along with the post to get access. I believe there is a little two way tape on the curve part so that requires a lot of finesse. The straight part comes off just like the front. I had a DIY I made for this but I dont know where it is.

I would not attempt this project unless you are prepared to buy new ones. They are delicate and bed easy. I bent one of mine and it took me forever to hammer and dolly it back to new.

 

I agree with naughty, its easier to paint them while on the car. It takes less time to mask off than to remove and reinstall, and you dont have to worry about bending or breaking any of the pieces. I pulled mine off the first time and when i repainted them this year i did it with them on the car. It came out better and it took less time to do. The mirrors do have to come off. Its not hard but why go through all the trouble?

 

Only problem with leaving them on is you may not be able to get the self etching primer on the edges like you need to. They will probably peel a lot faster.

sorry for the late response.... havent been as active on here as i use to...

it was a pain in the ****... had to remove all the interior door panels. i followed a DIY on here which helped a whole lot, but the rest was common sense. just be very careful on the lower door trim bc its a bit tricky to take out and the very rear trim on the rear doors are double sided taped on and will be the hardest part to take off with out damaging it.. this mod is very time consuming to do but worth doing IMO as long as it flows with your theme. i dont regret doing mine at all... good luck!!
