Arrow Moved to Michigan...

Hey guys just moved here to Michigan relocated here for work and have been here for about a week now from Cali..........planning on being here maybe for the next year or so...

I'm located in the Detroit area approx. about half-an-hour away from Detroit.

Since I'm new here I'm wondering...

1.) Any places I should visit to (the best places to visit in Michigan)?

2.) Any favorite restaurants or places to eat?

3.) Anything I should know about Michigan?

Already checked the Michigan Anyone thread here...
https://g35driver.com/forums/midwest...an-anyone.html
So I guess i'll be going to C&C if it starts up again...

4.) ..And I guess if anyone wants to add anything else?

My thoughts: So far it's great. Nothing like all the bad that you here of Detroit and Michigan, it's actually quite surprisingly nice...weather right now's perfect but I guess that' ll change later on (didn't really snow where I'm from)
Other than the fact that pretty much everyone owns a car manufactured from the big 3 autos (no surprise) why does everyone own a bike here? Is it just that time of the year where you can actually ride a bike? All I see is bikes everywhere...

Also if anyone knows of any local enthusiast or import websites (meets, etc.) here in Detroit or for Michigan in general, I tried searching but couldn't find anything unless the scene here not big enough....

Glad to be here

1. Ann Arbor is nearby, Mackinac Island up north is nice for a day trip / weekend, Frankenmuth appeals to some. You can also get to Niagara Falls pretty easily by cutting through Ontario, and Chicago is about 4 hours away. As far as Detroit, downtown has more to do now since the stadiums & casinos are there.

3. Honestly, I wouldn't drive a G in Detroit. Its my hometown, I love it to death, but I would never do it. Some of the freeways are terrible (94 and the Lodge freeway especially), and a good portion of the side streets have more potholes & patches than smooth road.

yea that's one of the first things I noticed when driving into Michigan/Detroit (which I thought it was just me) were the large amount of potholes/patches & bumpy roads. I'm driving the G sedan as my daily atm for now...and even with the stock 17"s on it, its' still a bumpy ride and makes me nervous cause a buddy of mine hit a huge mammoth size pothole somewhere and bent the inner lip just enough to leak air out of his tire, so he had to replace his rim...

Now I just drive pretty moderate because of that and watch out for potholes but it seems people drive pretty quick here too like cali or atleast maybe cause the PSL are faster than the norm compared to else where....either way i'll make sure to avoid the highways u mentioned or go real slow and dodge all the potholes

And so far i've seen 1 G on 19" Rays...lol foreign cars are special here almost like seeing an exotic cause they're so rare. I've yet to see a Z yet either...the sports car of choice here is the vette...

Yeah I saw the C&C so i'll def. be there and i'll have to check out the meet at my350 depending on work permitting i'll def. come out to those and any other ones...

On a side note I can't believe I didn't go to the eminem and jay-z concert It was about the first week I got here and I could've gotten tickets to that

i downgraded to 17s for 2 reasons. the 18's got cracked and i had a set of bbs laying around with fresh tires on them. just have to learn where potholes are and to avoid them each time.
