Finally!

I've been lurking around this site about 2 years and I finally got a G35. Brought home a new black G with black interior. It's a one year lease but that's what I wanted. The new styled G35 will be out next year butI didn't want to wait to buy a car and I didn't want a committment to a car going out of style. I think I did well. Especially since the payments are a comfortable 376 per month. Chrome 19 inch wheels will be on the car soon.
My thoughts on the car:
On my way home I almost turned around to take it back. It felt so cheap inside. Plastic every where. I'm accustomed to Lexus and the difference is obvious. I was getting sick to my stomach thinking I made a huge mistake.

Then I hit the gas and hit some curves at high speed. Then I realized what I had. A sports car. Sports cars aren't meant to be luxurious. Sports cars are meant to be driven. I know the power isn't humongous but 280 is more than enough for me. My Lexus SC300 has only 225 HP, my GS300 245 so this is a big deal to me. I see why you all love this car. Nice power. Sweet exhaust note. I think I'll keep her.

I know what you mean. I went from BMW to G, but it is the performance and price that makes the G35 so great. You'll enjoy it man, trust me.

I think you are the first BMW owner that has actually liked the performance of the G35. Those guys on bimmer forums have nothing nice to say about the G35.

You're saying it's not a good price if I put money down? I don't have experience with leasing but isn't it not possible to put something down? You gotta pay the taxes, fees, etc. No money down leases usually mean nothing down except the aquisition fees...anyway, downpayment plus fees came to 4K. Is that a bad deal?

I've been riding around this morning trying to bond with the car. I'm just not feeling it. Other than the performance, I don't feel any attachment. It doesn't look that great. It's not very comfortable. The interior is cheap. I have a little model car that looks great. The real car isn't doing anything for me. I am really seriously thinking of returning this car. It's not in my heart. I'm still thinking.

Well, I took the day to think it over and I guess I'll keep it. The performance is the deciding factor. The exhaust note helped a lot too. I'm sure I'll like the looks a lot more when I put some 19's on it. Can't mod it too much since it's a lease. Well, I could but I'm not planning to buy it. That new G35 looks like a winner. If not there should be a new IS350 coupe bowing about a year from now. Anyway, I plan to enjoy the year driving the heck out of this car.

Thanks everyone for putting up with my rantings. You all know how emotional buying a new car can get.

$4k down + $376 month for 12 months = $8512 for 1 year...I'm no expert but that doesn't seem like a good deal to me.

And come on get manual :P Even I got manual on my g35 when i bought it last week and I never drove manual a day in my life. I haven't stalled since the 3rd day I had the car.

Also I wouldn't bother with putting other rims on if its only a 1 yr lease...thats another big chunk of money down, but hey its your choice

My payments are only 420 a month and I bought the car. You might be paying a bit too much.
