Proud New g35 Coupe Owner
Hello!
Just picked up a 2003 Coupe with premium package and spoiler a couple of weeks ago.
As my screen name shows, that car will now be my weekend, track, project car and the G can now be my refined, newer, luxury daily driver. So that means I will "try" to not mod the G at all. Although the spare has been pulled and K&N drop in replaced the way over due filter that was in there.
This site has already helped me twice. First in programming the key fob and then finding out after the fact that Restore should NOT be poured into this motor. LOL
So based on those two above I proved that I a very familiar with the SEARCH feature. lol
Great car and this seems like a great site!

Thanks!
Well, the saving grace about mods for the G seems that other than SC/TT, most mods don't really offer big gains relative to the cost. Possible the Z tube and the spacer. Although it seems a 50/75 shot does very well on the G.
Gotta resize the pics to post.

That is one godly sexy Porsche.
Congrats on getting BS. BS/LP ftw
But yeah you won't do too well being on these boards and not modding your car. I had the same mindset until I joined here- I resisted until about 4 months after joining and the modding began.
Welcome to Driver.

So is the Z tube/CAI and spacer worth it?

1st off love the 944. I used to drool over those back in the day when I had my integra.
To answer you ques yes they are worth it, but don't expect any major hp/tq increases.
To get any noticeable increases without goin FI you'll need to drop around $1500-$3500.
This includes
Exhaust
Ypipe (if applicable)
HFCs
MD spacer
Ztube
rev-up airbox
and lastly a tune
Of course the pricing depends on whether you buy new/used and what brands you choose.
BTW, I wouldn't bother with CAI.
Instead I would look for a used rev-up air box from an 05'-07' coupe.
They're extremely popular around here because they don't cost too much
and the performance is just as good IMO.
You just don't get the extra hiss as you would from the CAI.
And there's less heatsoak.
This is highly debated on this website, you'll find that out just by searching "CAI".
