Talking proud new G owner! :D (pics!) & progress thread

hey everyone, i'm a new member to this forum, but i'm registered on a lot of other forums online under the same username (most active on nico club). i just bought a g35 coupe last week for a new daily driver and wanted to share with everyone. i absolutely love it so far! the vq sounds so amazing even stock, i haven't even really turned on the radio because i love hearing the sound of it.

details:
2004 twilight blue with black interior
6MT
factory front lip/aero
'06-'07 style spoiler
no sunroof (super rare)
currently on 350z h&r springs
gunmetal super advans 18x8.5 +27 front, 18x10 +24 rear
new toyo proxes t1r's 245/45 front, 275/40 rear
slotted 2 piece racing brake rotors
and best of all, 27k original miles

pics do not do this thing justice...

i don't really have any plans for it as of now other than using it as my new dd. i wish the previous owner got some better offsets on the front wheels because they are a little sunken, but still doable for now. might pick up some spacers later. i'd also like to swap out the '06-'07 style spoiler for the '03-'05 spoiler one of these days, looks much better imo. and lastly, swap out that horrible stock head unit for my alpine i have, although i'm not looking forward to paying ~$300 for the double din trim setup so the tape adapter method will have to do for now.

anyways, i absolutely love how this car rides- super smooth and comfortable. i came from driving a '91 ford escort gt for the last 6 years with 177k and recently blown struts/sloppy suspension so this is a huge improvement. my first car was an s13 240sx which i'm actually restoring & building still, and wanted to get back into something rwd and in the nissan family which i'm a lot more familiar with. not to mention the escort is literally rusting apart and i feel kind of unsafe driving it anymore in that condition.

i'm happy to be a part of this community and am doing all the research i can to learn more about the G and what's out there for it. so that's my story, let me know what you guys think!

Congrats esp with the low miles. I say go for the trunk debage right away, stock looks likes theres too much going on with the back.

IMO those wheels have to go, then again im in love with my stock 19's and wouldn't get anything else

yeah i was thinking of debadging everything except the infiniti logo on the trunk, would definitely look a bit cleaner. the wheels look like crap in the pics but they are 10 times better in person. i was never really a fan of the super advans to be honest, but they look really good on the car in person. i'll leave them for now.

Great find! Not a big fan of the tri star type rims either but its not my car. I was a fan of the "surfboard" spoiler till mine grew on me. What you like is gonna change alot the longer your on these threads lol. What did you wind up paying if you dont mind me asking? Again, congrats!

thanks! yeah ideally i'd have a set of work vs-xx or something on there but i'll worry about that later. i actually got a really good deal on the car. absolutely no problems, legit carfax, 2 previous owners. so i'm pretty happy overall

thanks! yeah i was really surprised i found one without a sunroof. i actually prefer cars without them just because it makes the roof look amazingly clean without a big gaping hole in the middle, plus i never use them anyways. after looking for a few months i was sure 99% of the '03-'04 models had them installed (at least all the 6mt ones). i had better luck finding '06's without the sunroof for some reason. a simple vin check through the nissan FAST program will confirm all installed options though.

Welcome man, nice pick up. Clean title? I'd sell those rims fast and try to pick up another set, even OEM 19's.

Hey if you don't use them then better on you. I hardly use mine. More like at school only during hot days so the hot air has some where to go. lol

Welcome to DRIVER and Congratulations on your G....!

Wow....a Twilight Blue coupe that's been hardly driven, damn nice find! Sorry, but those wheels are major fugly....maybe the scrap yard would give you a few $$ for them once you find something better. Funny, who ever put those one and paid for them thought they looked good....so much for taste. Enjoy your new ride, I'm sure you will!

Haha, I just bought my G last week too. From NJ! Had to fly out, then drive it back to Ohio. Had a few issues on the way, but its running great now, and I love it. Great deal on yours, can't believe it has that low of miles, especially for the age. As for the wheels, perhaps you can use them for your winter set up. I like the 03-05 spoilers better too. Mine came with a CF lip which grew on me pretty fast, I'm really happy with the way that looks.
