When to put on snow tires?

When are you guys planning to put on your snowtires for your G35? Because of my scheduling conflict either I can put it on oct 19th weekend or nov 19th weekend (I work on weekends so other weekends are out.)
Should I put it on oct or nov? Currnetly i have the stock summers and live in Long Island.

I'm in Ontario, Canada and I generally put my snows on when the outside temperature starts to consistently stay below 50 F (10 C).

Actually standard tires start to lose some of their traction capabilities around 7 C (44.6 F). I did a quick search and found this, which is interesting reading. Here is a copy of part of the write up from an article found here http://www.steersj.ca/printables/2_TireBasics.pdf

Winter Tires
A combination of specialized tread designs and compounds provides effective traction
in Canada’s difficult winter conditions (snow, ice, sleet, rain and low road-surface
temperatures). At temperatures below 7°C,2 standard compound tires begin to lose
elasticity, resulting in reduced traction. Winter tire compounds retain elasticity to grip at
much lower temperatures.
Typical Winter tread designs have larger grooves and tread blocks that have many
more sipes than the typical All Season tire. Tires marked with the Rubber Association of
Canada (RAC) “mountain snowflake” (see Figure 4) symbol moulded on the sidewall have been tested to provide a minimum 10 percent better traction in severe snow
conditions. Many Winter tires provide 30 to 50 percent better traction in winter
conditions.
Caution: Winter tires should be installed in sets of four. Failure to follow this
recommendation could result in severe and dangerous handling conditions
.

I have read elsewhere that with summer performance tires you start to lose some traction capabilities when it only gets as cold as 10 C (50 F). So to be safe I change the tires when it gets around that temperature, besides it's more comfortable working outside rather than wait till it's colder.

Last year I did it Friday after thanksgiving, and I probably will do this year around that time, but it all depends on the weather.

Around Thanksgiving here in NY is when I put my on...

If there is ANY snow, I would NOT drive in the summer tires... anything below 40F, it's the daily driven SUV.

Never. With the lack of snow these days (Thanks global warming) the NYC metro area hardly gets hit. I use public transportation to get to work M-F so I just stay in the 2 -3 times a year it snows. However, don't even think you can get ANYWHERE with even a dusting of snow on summer tires. You will be all over the place.
